OTHER NOTES

  • For many of the recipes that use Ginseng There is what is called a Poor Man's Modification.
The Ren Shen(Ginseng root) in the Formula is Replaced with 2 -3 times as much Dang Shen (Root of Codonopsis). This is used when Ginseng is to expensive. Or simply when a weaker less warming effect is desired.
  • Tinctures Containing Ren Shen (Ginseng) or Ma Huang Should not be taken by those with high Blood Pressure or Heart problems
  • These Tonic Wines should be Taken Under the Supervision of a Trained Herbalist, or under the Advise of a T.C.M. Doctor

ABOUT THE HERBS USED FOR HERB PACKS

THE MOST COMMON METHOD USED TO ASCERTAIN THE QUALITY OF AN HERB IS  THROUGH ITS OBSERVABLE PROPERTIES, COLOR, SMELL OR SIZE. THE HERB'S PLACE OF ORIGIN, HOWEVER IS ACTUALLY THE MOST RELIABLE METHOD. SINCE MODERN SCIENCE CANNOT IDENTIFY THE ACTIVE ELEMENTS OF THE HERBS OR EXPLAIN THERE EFFECT, IT IS ULTIMATELY THE GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN OF THE HERB THAT BEST SIGNIFIES ITS MEDICINAL PURPOSE. FOR EXAMPLE THE HERB SCHISANDRA  IS MOST POTENT WHEN GROWN IN THE NORTH, AND LEAST POTENT WHEN GROWN IN THE WEST OR SOUTH. THEREFORE THE REGION IN WHICH AN HERB IS GROWN IS AN IMPORTANT DETERMINANT AND SIGNIFIER OF THE HERB'S QUALITY AND EFFECTIVENESS. AT THE SCAR FAMILY WE USE ONLY HERBS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND HAILING FROM THE BEST REGIONS OF THE WORLD.

THESE ARE THE SAME REGION SPECIFIC HERBS THAT WERE USED FOR CENTURIES AT THE LEGENDARY SHAOLIN, WUDANG & OMEI TEMPLES. AUTHENTICALLY SOURCED FROM THE FARTHEST REACHES OF ASIA.
THESE ARE NOT HERBS GROWN IN MEXICO FOR THE CALIFORNIA NEW AGE MOVEMENT.

ALL HERBS HAVE BEEN GROWN ORGANICALLY WITH OUT CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS OR PESTICIDES AND CONTAIN NO ARTIFICIAL COLORING OR PRESERVATIVES. AND ARE DRIED NATURALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY WITH OUT SULFUR CONTAMINATION OFTEN FOUND IN CHEAPER HERBS FROM EXTENSIVE COAL DRYING.

EVERY COMPANY CLAIMS TO HAVE ONLY THE HIGHEST QUALITY HERBS ON THERE WEBSITE. WHAT MAKE US DIFFERENT? WE GO OUT OF OUR WAY TO NOT USE THE SAME HERB SUPPLIERS AS OUR COMPETITION (AT OUR EXPENSE), AND WE OFFER VERY CLEAR QUALITY PICTURES OF OUR HERBS FOR YOUR TO VIEW AND COMPARE WITH OTHERS. DOING THIS IT IS VERY EASY TO SEE THAT THE EXTRA MONEY WE SPEND TO STOCK OUR HERBS IS WELL WORTH IT FOR THE QUALITY OF HERBS WE RECEIVE, USE AND SELL.
